Senior forward Alicia Kutil of UMass Dartmouth is the Presto Sports NEWBA Player of the Week for games played from January 22-28. Kutil powered the Corsairs to a 2-0 week, averaging 32 points, 16.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. She matched her career-high with 31 points in Wednesday's 89-55 victory over Rhode Island College, while also grabbing 15 boards to go with three assists and two blocks. She followed that up by establishing new career-bests in both points (33) and rebounds (18) as UMass Dartmouth rolled to a 105-83 victory at Western Connecticut on Saturday. For the week, she shot 61.9 percent from the field and 78.6 percent from the free throw line.

Freshman forward Jaymesha Sanders of Newbury College earns NEWBA Rookie of the Week honors after averaging 17.5 points on 50 percent shooting from the field and 17.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for the Nighthawks. Sanders opened her week with a 24-point, 24-rebound, two-assist effort in Newbury's 63-58 win over Dean on Tuesday. In her second game of the week, Sanders posted another double-double with 11 points, ten boards and one steal as the Nighthawks defeated Mitchell, 75-55, on Saturday. 

Honor Roll
  • Rene Hudson, New England College (Sophomore • Guard • Gallatin, Tenn.) Hudson scored 26 points per game on 45.3 percent shooting in a 3-0 week for the Pilgrims. She totaled 34 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the floor in NEC's 70-42 win over Thomas on Saturday, after recording 26 points on 9-of-16 shooting in an 82-61 win over Maine-Farmington on Friday. Hudson also averaged 9.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. 
  • Emily Irwin, Curry (Junior • Guard • Billerica, Mass.) Irwin averaged a team-high 23.5 points while adding 7.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game in a 1-1 week for Curry. The junior guard opened the week with a 19-point performance on 7-for-12 shooting, including 3-for-4 from distance and 2-for-4 at the charity stripe to go along with six rebounds, seven assists, and four steals in a 58-30 win over Wentworth. She then matched her season-high with 28 points on 9-for-25 shooting, including 4-for-9 from three and 6-for-10 from the free throw line in a narrow 69-63 loss to Endicott on Saturday. Irwin added nine rebounds, six assists, and three steals in 38 minutes in the loss to the Gulls. She shot 43.2 percent from the field and 53.8 percent from the field for the week. 
  • Mary Kate O'Day, Framingham State (Sophomore • Guard • Berlin, Mass.) - O'Day turned in a pair of strong efforts as the Rams went 2-0 last week. She registered a double-double with 17 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and one steal in an 87-77 win over MCLA on Thursday, before pouring in a career-high 39 points on 14-of-25 shooting from the field and 7-of-7 from the free throw line in Saturday's 88-78 triumph over Fitchburg State. For the week, she shot 46.3 percent from the field and 81.3 percent from the free throw line. 
  • Brittany Stone, Regis (Senior • Forward • West Bridgewater, Mass.) Stone led Regis to a 3-0 week, averaging 21 points and 12.3 rebounds per game with a pair of double-doubles. She scored 26 points and grabbed 13 boards to go with three steals and three blocks on Tuesday in a 67-44 win over St. Joseph (Conn.), and two games later totaled 27 points, 16 rebounds, one assist and one block as the Pride defeated Mount Ida, 71-48, on Saturday. She shot 60 percent from the field and 83.3 percent from the charity stripe for the week, in the process becoming the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,682 points.  
  • Mya Villard, Eastern Connecticut (Sophomore • Forward • Cromwell, Conn.) Villard averaged 24 points and 9.7 rebounds per game in a 3-0 week for the Warriors. She broke out for a career-high 35 points on 13-of-22 shooting from the field and 9-of-10 from the free throw line to go with 12 rebounds and two assists in a 110-94 win over Western Connecticut on Wednesday. She followed that up with 15 points, a season-high 14 boards, one block and one steal in a 65-63 win at Dean on Thursday, before recording 22 points, three rebounds and one assist as East Conn. topped Plymouth State 72-55 on Saturday. Over the three-game stretch, she shot 62.8 percent from the field and 85.7 percent from the free throw line.
