Meaghan O'Keefe of Worcester State University has earned the NEWBA/Prestosports Player of the Week honors after leading the Lancers to a 2-0 week. O'Keefe averaged 20 points, 18.5 rebounds and five blocks in a 2-0 week for Worcester State including game-highs of 26 points, 18 boards and 6 blocks in a 76-64 win against Fitchburg State and 14 points, 19 caroms and four blocks in a 76-71 comeback win over Bridgewater State. She also connected for 44 percent from the field for the week (12-27) and 93 percent from charity stripe (14-15).

Olivia Murphy of UMass-Boston is this week's NEWBA/Prestosports Rookie of the Week after some excellent play for the Beacons. In two games last week, Murphy  averaged 20.5 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks her game, while playing all but three minutes for her team.  Against nationally ranked Southern Maine, she racked up 18 points, pulled down 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots, followed up by a 23 point, nine rebound effort against Western Connecticut State University.

Honor Roll
  • Aliah Curry, Norwich University (So., G, Windsor, Mass.) - Curry averaged 30 points per game on 32 percent shooting from the floor in a 1-2 week for the Cadets. The sophomore guard netted a career-high 37 points against Rivier, besting her previous career-high of 36 points that she scored against Pine Manor College on January 10, 2012. Curry also added 29 points, including a pair of game-winning free-throws, in Norwich's 58-56 win against Lasell. In addition, Curry contributed 16 rebounds, five assists, and three steals for the Cadets this week. 
  • Siobhan Carnell, Keene State College (Sr., G, Quincy, Mass.) - Carnell led the Owls to two wins last week, averaging 27 points per game.  In a win against Plymouth State University, Carnell scored 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor, followed up by a career high 34 points against UMass-Dartmouth in a 71-60 victory.  Carnell also averaged 8.0 rebounds and knocked down all 16 of her free throws.
  • Jen Ashton, Westfield State University (So., G, Beverly, Mass.) - Ashton led Westfield State to two wins, averaging 18 points per game.   She poured in 18 points and seven assists in a 71-44 win over Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and added 18 more points, six assists, and five steaks in a 72-66 win over Framingham State University.
  • Mary Hyde, University of St. Joseph (CT) (Jr., G, Derby, Conn.) - Hyde ad a career high 27 points to go along with 13 rebounds and 6 assists in a win over conference opponent Lasell. On the week, she shot 40.9% from the field, 64% from beyond the 3 point arc, and 94% from the free throw line. She averaged nearly a double double on the week with 20.3 points per game and and 9.0 rebounds per game. 
  • Kate Karraker, Mount Holyoke College (So., G, Morgantown, WVa.) -Karraker helped MHC to a critical double overtime victory against Springfield, pouring in a career-best 25 points on 7-for-9 shooting. She also shot a blistering 7-for-7 from three-point range, tying the school record for three-pointers made in a game and recording a new mark for three-point percentage in a game (100.0%). Additionally, she was perfect on all free throw chances (4-4) and had a career-high five steals against the Pride. Karraker then led all Lyons scorers with 12 points in a tough loss at Wellesley to close out the week.

  • Babson's Sarah Collins leads all of NCAA Division III with 14 double-doubles.
  • Cathleen O'Connell of Newbury College had seven steals against Daniel Webster, tying the school record for steals in a game.
  • Western New England University's Emily Savino is now in eighth place on the schools' all-time scoring list with 1,229 points.
