Vick powered the Bantams offense to a 3-0 week, averaging 20.5 points while shooting 58.8 percent from the floor, including 64.3 percent (9-for-14) from 3-point range. Vick registered 19 points with three rebounds, two assists, and a steal in a 75-63 victory at Vassar. The sophomore poured in a career-high 26 points, shooting 70 percent from the field, 75 percent (6-for-8) from 3-point, and a perfect 6-of-6 from the foul line with two assists as the Bantams held off Rivier 91-82. Vick added 16 points and two rebounds in a win over Emmanuel.

Freshman • Guard • Bradford, MA

Brandeis's second-leading scorer last week, averaging 14.5 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block and 0.5 steals per game. She shot 47.6% from the field (10-21), 43.8% from 3-point range (7-16) and 50% from the line (2-4). Maina had 11 points, three assists, two blocks and a steal in a 69-56 win over Rivier at home on Nov. 19,  and 18 points, four boards and an assist in an 81-71 loss at UMass Dartmouth on Nov. 23. Maina leads the University Athletic Association with 18 3-pointers this season.

 

 

NEWBA First Team
  • Amanda DeAngelis, Suffolk (Gr. | Forward | Londonderry, NH) - In a 2-0 week averaged 19 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 44% from the field.
  • Kylie Grassi, Bridgewater St. (Sr. | Forward | Plymouth, MA) - The MVP of The Cave Classic, Grassi averaged 23.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 2.5 steals and one blocked shot while shooting 82.4% (14-17) at the free throw line to help lead the Bears to the tournament title. The Plymouth, Massachusetts product notched 31 points five rebounds (two offensive), two assists, three steals and a block in a 79-74 semifinal round win over Eastern Connecticut State; and tallied 16 points, two offensive rebounds, an assist, two steals and a block in a 57-40 championship game victory over Emerson College.
  • Lyric Grumblatt, Rivier (Sr. | Guard | Manchester, NH) - Grumblatt led the squad on the floor, averaging 29.7 points per game against the non-conference slate. She added 6.0 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game, and 1.0 steals per game playing 38.3 minutes per game on average. In a loss at Trinity (Conn.) on Thursday, Nov. 21, Grumblatt tied her career-high single-game points total with 44.
  • Lulu Ohm, Brandeis (Sr. | Guard | Waltham, MA) - Ohm led the Judges to a 1-1 week by averaging 23 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 assist per game. She shot 45% from the field (17-38), 33% from 3-point range (4-12) and 89% from the line (8-9).
  • Kaylin Zalewski, UMass Dartmouth (Sr. | Guard | Johnston, RI)  - Zalewski dropped 33 total points during a 2-0 week for the Corsairs to improve the team to a perfect 4-0 overall start on the young season. UMass Dartmouth opened the week by defeating Smith College, ranked No. 9 in the nation, on Nov. 20; Zalewski scored 10-points and hauled in a team-high seven rebounds and two steals in the 63-60 win over the Judges. She went on to have a 23-point performance on Saturday versus Brandeis University shooting 77.8 percent from the field after making 7-of-9 shots along with an impressive 8-of-9 shots made from the charity stripe (88.9).

  • Madison Medbury, RIC (Gr. | Guard | Newtown, CT) - Medbury averaged 15.3 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 6.3 apg and 2.0 spg as RIC rattled off three straight wins. She had 15 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and three steals in a 58-52 win over Springfield on Nov. 19. Medbury was named the Most Outstanding Player and to the All-Tournament Team at the 2024 Anchorwomen Invitational, hosted by RIC on Nov. 22-23. She had 19 points, three boards, seven assists and three steals in a 69-62 win over MIT. Medbury posted 12 points, four boards, four assists and two blocks in a dominating, 72-50, win over Albertus Magnus in the final.
  • Elyza Mitchell, Colby-Sawyer (Jr | Forward) - Mitchell was instrumental in helping the Chargers to their first 6-0 start since 2006. In a 2-0 week, Mitchell had back-to-back double doubles and a rare 4x5 game against Plymouth State with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Her 12 point, 12 rebound game against Fitchburg State is was her fourth straight double-double.
  • Alexa Mustafaj, Middlebury (Sr. | Guard | Yonkers, NY) - Mustafaj averaged 23.5 points per game in a 2-0 week for Middlebury. The senior tallied 25 points and a pair of steals to lead the Panthers past Skidmore 56-43 in midweek action, before recording 22 points and eight boards in a triumph over Union in the Panthers’ home opener. Mustafaj’s total rebounds on Saturday tied her career best.
  • Taylor Salato, Eastern Conn. (Sr. | Forward | East Haven, CT) - In a 61-50 victory over the University of New England in the consolation game of the BSU Cave Classic, Salato posted her second tournament double-double with game-highs of 22 points and 12 rebounds(24/11 Friday), making her Eastern?s representative on the all-tournament team. In the tournament, the 5-foot-11 inch forward averaged 23.0 points and 11.5 rebounds with four total assists, four steals and a blocked shot. She shot 51.4 percent from the floor and was 8-of-9 from the foul line and also grabbed the 500th rebound of her career. In three games during the week, she averaged 23.0 points and 10.7 rebounds with six assists, four steals anda blocked shot. She shot 50.9 percent from the floor and was 15-of-20 from the stripe.
  • Emma Shinney, Endicott (So | Guard | Wakefield, MA) - Over two games (Tufts and USCGA), she averaged 18 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and shot 48% from the floor.
