Guiffre led the Cardinals to three home wins, including the team's first win over Amherst since 2007. Guiffre shot 75 percent from the floor (18-for-24) and 83.3 percent from three (10-for-12), averaging 27.5 points in a pair of NESCAC home wins over the Mammoths and Hamilton. Guiffre started with 23 points, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals in a 65-61 win over Amherst that snapped a 32-game losing streak for the program against Amherst. Looking for the weekend sweep, Guiffre responded with a career-high 32 points on 11-for-15 shooting and 6-for-7 from three, while adding five assists and a career-high six steals as the Cardinals took down the Continentals 74-73. That win secured the Cardinals' first home NESCAC weekend sweep since 2013 as Wesleyan vaulted all the way from ninth to fourth in the league standings.

Freshman • Forward • Cumberland, RI

Zancan averaged 14.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game in a 2-0 week for Regis. Zancan dropped 20 points, six boards and three steals in a 69-56 win over Johnson & Wales on January 28.

NEWBA First Team
  • Katty Haidul, Framingham St. (Jr. | Forward | Gilford, NH) - Averaged 18 points, eight rebounds, 1.5 assists and a steal while shooting 13-23 (52.2 percent) from the floor in a 2-0 week for the Rams. Scored 16 points with 10 boards and an assist in the 77-57 win over Worcester State. Netted 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor plus six rebounds, two assists and two steals in the 81-73 win over Bridgewater State.
  • Morgan Morrison, Smith (Sr. | Forward | Detroit, MI) - Morrison continued her impressive play this season by averaging 18.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game in two wins for the Smith basketball team. Morrison recorded her eight double-double of the year with 21 points and 12 rebounds in Smith's 70-60 win over Tufts on January 23, beating the Jumbos for the first time since the 1995-96 season. She added 15 points and five rebounds in a victory at Mount Holyoke as Smith won their 12th straight to improve to 18-1 overall and 4-0 in the NEWMAC.
  • Maggie Russell, Tufts (Jr. | Forward | Morristown, NJ) - In a 2-1 week for the Jumbos, Russell averaged 20.1 points, 8.3 rebounds. 2.3 steals and 2.0 assists per game. She led Tufts with 26 points and seven rebounds in a win at Middlebury on Jan. 28 following a 20 points, nine rebound performance against Williams. 
  • Faye Veilleux, UNE (Jr. | Forward | Wrentham, MA) - She exceeded her previous career high by 11 at Endicott, totaling 32 points on 14-of-23 shooting. It was the most scoring done by a UNE player in six years. She also made the night her second double-double with a game-best 12 rebounds, and picked up six steals. Game-high 17 points at RWU.
  • Amina Wiley, Mitchell (Sr. | Forward | New Rochelle, NY) - Wiley averaged 19.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game in a 1-1 week for the Mariners. She poured in a game-high 28 points and grabbed 16 boards in an 85-79 win at Eastern Nazarene.

NEWBA Second Team

  • Reilly Campbell, Trinity (Jr | Center | Wallingford, CT) - Campbell had 16 points and 11 rebounds with two blocks in a win against Hamilton. She also had 15 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and a block in a victory over Amherst
  • Angela Czeremcha, Springfield (So. | Forward | West Springfield, MA) -  Czeremcha had a standout week for Springfield as she averaged a double-double with 15.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. She started off the week with a 19-point, 13-rebound performance versus MIT before helping power Springfield to a win over No. 9 Babson on Saturday. In the victory over the Beavers, she logged 35 minutes in the post while committing just one foul, and tallied a game-high 11 rebounds, including eight on the defensive glass, to go along with 12 points. She finished the week shooting 54% from the floor as she connected on 13-of-24 field goal attempts.
  • Pam Gonzalez, Regis (Sr. | Guard | Revere, MA) - Gonzalez averaged 16.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.0 steals in a 2-0 week for Regis. She scored her 1,000th career point in the Pride's 69-56 win over Johnson & Wales on Jan. 28. 
  • Kylie Grassi, Bridgewater St. (So. | Forward | Plymouth, MA) - Averaged 24 points, six rebounds, three assists, four steals and 1.5 blocked shots in a 1-1 MASCAC week for the Bears while shooting 42.9% (15-35) from the floor, 42.9% (6-14) from three-point range and 92.3% (12-13) at the free throw line. Notched 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block in an 81-24 MASCAC win over MCLA. Tallied a career-high 30 points to go along with seven rebounds, three assists, six steals and two blocks in an 81-73 conference setback to Framingham State University.
  • Lauren Plissey, Maine Maritime (5th Year | Forward | Hermon, ME) - Lauren Plissey had a monster week for the Mariners, recording 36 points, shooting 64% from the floor, 20 rebounds, eight blocks, four assists, and two steals. Plissey led the Mariners in a 64-55 victory over Husson University with a team-high 15 points, eight rebounds, five blocks, and four assists, while holding one of the nation?s top field goal percentage shooters to five points and anchoring a Mariner defense that held Husson 20 points below their average. She followed up on Friday evening in a 76-40 win over NVU-Lyndon with nine points, four rebounds, one block, and one steal, while helping hold Lyndon 14 points below their average. The post player ended with weekend with 12 points, eight rebounds, two blocks, and one steal, while holding Lyndon again to 14 points below their average.
