Hasson Earns Final Player of the Week Honors of Regular Season

Hasson led the Polar Bears to their first NESCAC Championship since 2009, averaging a double-double in wins over top-five teams Amherst and Tufts. For the weekend, Hasson averaged 20.5 points and 12.0 rebounds while hittong on 52% of her shots from the field. In the NESCAC title game against Tufts on Sunday, Hasson scored 24 points with ten rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Averaged 17 points, 12 boards, 4.5 assists and 1.5 blocks in a 2-0 week for the Rams that ended with the program?s first ever MASCAC Tournament Championship. Scored 22 points, going 8-for-10 from the line with 13 boards, six assists, two blocks and a steal in the 92-59 semifinal win over Bridgewater State. Added 12 points with 11 boards, three assists and a block in the 66-51 championship game victory.

  • Sydney Allen, Husson University (So. | Forward | Corinth, Maine.) - In an explosive performance against NVU-Lyndon, Allen recorded a career-high 29 points to help the Eagles capture a 74-61 NAC Semifinal victory. She shot 10-for-13 (76.9%) from the floor including four buckets from downtown. The sophomore added another team-high on the scoreboard in the NAC Championship, 70-60, victory over UMaine-Farmington on Saturday as she netted 17 points. Between the two games, she tallied 46 points, eight rebounds, and four assists as the Eagles won their fifth-straight NAC Title to advance to the NCAA DIII Women's Basketball Tournament. Sydney Allen was also named the NAC Tournament MVP for her first time.
  • Mary Kate O'Day, Framingham State (Sr. | Guard | Berlin, Mass.) - Averaged 24 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, two steals while shooting 44.1 percent (15-34) from the field to lead the Rams their first MASCAC Tournament Championship. Netted 21 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals in the 92-59 semifinal win over Bridgewater State then added 27 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a block in the 66-51 championship game victory over Worcester State to earn Tournament MVP accolades.
  • Jessie Ruffner, Smith College (Fy. | Guard| Rocklin, Calif.) - Ruffner was named the NEWMAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player after helping the Pioneers capture their first ever NEWMAC title. She averaged 16.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game over the three-game stretch, while shooting 46.3 percent from the field. In the championship game against MIT, she finished with 15 points, four steals and two assists. With the win, Smith sets a program record with 24 wins.
  • Rene Hudson, New England College (Sr. | Guard | Gallatin, Tenn.) - As the Pilgrims were crowned NECC champs for the second consecutive season, Rene Hudson was sensational in the NECC tournament averaging 27.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and a steal. In the championship win over Eastern Nazerene, Hudson was the Pilgrims leading scorer with 19 points. 
  • Anna Barry, Eastern Connecticut  (So. | Forward | Andover, Conn.) - When Eastern won the Little East Conference tournament championship Sunday, Barry averaged 18.5 points (16-of-33 FG) and 8.0 rebounds with six blocks, four assists and three steals en route to MVP honors. In a 57-48 semifinal win over UMass Boston, Barry had a career-high 25 points (11-of-20 FG) with eight rebounds, four blocked shots and three assists. In the second half against UMB, Barry had 21 of Eastern's 37 points (9-of-15) and four rebounds. When Eastern outscored UMB 23-12 in the third quarter, Barry had 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting. In the final against RIC, Barry had 12 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks. In volleyball, Barry was named tournament MVP as a freshman in leading the Warriors to the tournament championship and was selected LEC Offensive Player-of-the-Year in volleyball this past fall.
