In a 2-0 week, DeCandido averaged 20.5 points on 62.1% shooting from the field with 7.5 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists, and a pair of steals. The Jumbos handled Wheaton (Mass.) with DeCandido adding 13 points, five boards, and three assists in just 20 minutes of action. In their NESCAC opener, Tufts beat Wesleyan (Conn.) 78-60 behind the the career-high 28 points, 10 rebounds, and three steals from DeCandido. The Jumbos remain undefeated.

Donovan continues to pace the Eagles on the scoreboard, leading Husson in points in all three games on a 2-1 week including 40 points in the sweep against UMPI and netting 13 points against nationally ranked #2/#2 Bowdoin. Overall on the week, the rookie averaged 17.7 points, 8.7 boards, and 0.7 blocks per game. Donovan shot a steady 72.0% (18-25) from the field and was a frequent flyer to the free throw line, netting 77.3% (17-22) of her foul shots.

 

Honor Roll
  • Anna Barry, Eastern Connecticut (So. | Forward | Andover, Conn.) - Sparked Eastern to three Little East Conference victories that kept it unbeaten in the conference and extended its overall winning streak to seven. The six-footer averaged 12.7 points and 7.0 rebounds with eight assists and five blocked shots. Barry was 12-of-13 from the foul line was shot 48.1 percent from the floor. In a Saturday road win over Plymouth State, Barry had 15 points and was 7-of-7 from the stripe in only 20 minutes. At Keene State, Barry pulled down 11 rebounds to go along with 13 points in 27 minutes for her fifth double-double of the year.
  • Karli Opalka, Roger Williams (So. | Center | Southbury, Conn.) - Opalka helped Roger Williams to a 2-1 week in three conference contests. She averaged 18.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game during the stretch and shot 53.5 percent (23-for-43) from the field. After an early week setback to University of New England, Opalka bounced back with back-to-back 20-point games against Nichols and Gordon. She scored 23 against the Bison and added six boards. Against the Fighting Scots, she scored 26 with five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. 
  • Sophie Guerrier, Rhode Island College (Jr. | Guard | Waltham, Mass.) - Guerrier was named the Little East Player of the Week. Guerrier averaged 15.3 ppg, on 62 percent (19-for-31) shooting from the field, 4.7 rpg, 3.0 apg, 1.7 bpg and 1.3 spg for the week. She had 14 points, five boards and two assists in a 68-59 win over Southern Maine on Jan. 7. She had 21 points, three boards and four assists in an 82-57 win over WestConn on Jan. 9. She had 11 points, six boards and three assists in a 72-38 win over Keene State on Jan. 11.
  • Gigi LeMay, Worcester State (Jr. | Guard | Grafton, Mass.) -  LeMay had a breakout week for the Lancers, leading her team to pair of wins off the bench. LeMay opened the week with a career-high 26 points in a win over Saint Joseph's (Me.), which included eight rebounds and four steals, before scoring 11 points with eight boards, four assists, and four steals in a win over Anna Maria on Thursday.
  • Mary Kate O'Day, Framingham State (Sr. | Guard | Berlin, Mass.) - O'Day averaged 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and four assists in a 1-1 week for the Rams. The senior exploded for 31 points on 10-of-19 shooting (53%) from the floor and 4-of-6 (67%) from three-point range with 10 rebounds and five assists in the 101-91 win over Westfield State, while later in the week, O'Day tallied 12 points, nine rebounds and three assists in the 59-53 setback to Emerson College.
