NEWBA Announces Weekly Awards for January 2

Guest-Pritchett averaged 23.5 points and 23.0 rebounds in two wins for Smith. In a 108-100 overtime victory over Westfield State on December 12, Guest-Pritchett set career-high numbers of 33 points and 28 rebounds while shooting 66.7 percent from the field. Her 28 rebounds (17 defensive, 11 offensive) were a single-game record and her 33 points tied for fifth most in program history. The Pioneers overcame a 17-point second-half deficit to beat TCNJ, 72-67, on December 30 with Guest-Pritchett recording her sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 18 boards.


Peyton Perine
Curry College
Freshman • Center • Fairfax, Va. 

Perine averaged 15.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in three games for the Colonels. She scored 21 points along with five rebounds, an assist, and a steal against Widener in her team's opening game at the Cruzin' Classic in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on December 20. She followed that up with 13 points, seven boards, two assists, two steals, and a block against Simpson the next day. On December 29, Perine produced a 12-point, eight-rebound game in a 47-32 win over Thomas. She shot 40.8 percent (20-for-49) from the field in the three games.

  • Lauren Bondi, Smith (Senior | Guard | Burnaby, British Columbia) - Bondi averaged 30.5 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.0 steals in two wins for Smith. In the Pioneers' 108-100 overtime victory against Westfield State on December 12, Bondi became the 13th player in program history to reach the 1,000 point mark with her career-high 38 point performance. Bondi's 38 points were second most in program history and her 19 made free throws were also second most in the Smith basketball record books. On December 30, Bondi poured in 23 points to go with two assists and two steals in the Pioneers' 72-67 win over TCNJ. Bondi scored 20 points in the second half as Smith overcame a 17-point deficit in the third quarter.
  • Emily Irwin, Curry (Senior | Guard | Billerica, Mass.) - Irwin did a little bit of everything for Curry as she averaged 21.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.7 steals, and 3.3 assists per game in the Colonels' three contests. She scored a season-high 29 points against Widener in the opening game of the Cruzin' Classic in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., while also adding six rebounds, six assists, and three steals. She followed that up with 17 points, six rebounds, six steals, and three assists in a loss to Simpson. She closed out the awarding period with an 18-point, nine-rebound game against Thomas, a 47-32 victory. She also had eight steals in the contest.
  • Kelsi McNamara, St. Joseph's (Maine) (Senior | Guard | West Newbury, Mass.) - McNamara carried the Monks to a pair of victories by averaging 33.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game during the team's California trip last week. The senior guard was lights out from the field with a 65.6% (21-32) shooting effort, which included a 66.7% (10-15) performance from beyond arc, and was 14-14 from the FT line in wins over Pomona-Pitzer and Occidental. In the 74-70 victory over Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday, McNamara netted a career-high 40 points and was 12-12 from the FT line with nine rebounds and three assists. 
  • Payton Ouimette, Babson (Senior | Forward | Medfield, Mass.) - Ouimette posted two double-doubles and averaged 14.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals while shooting 54.5 percent in three wins over the holiday break. The senior forward finished with 11 points, 17 rebounds and four assists in a 70-51 victory over Cal Lutheran, and followed it up with 17 points, 11 boards, two assists and three steals in a 71-55 rout of Plattsburgh in Miami on December 18-19. Ouimette scored 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting to go along with nine rebounds as the Beavers won the first of two games at the Judy Pearson '85 Memorial Tournament over Salve Regina, 99-58, on Sunday. 
  • Kenzie Worcester, Husson (Senior | Guard | Washburn, Maine) - Worcester averaged 21.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.3 assists per game over a three-game period for Husson. She poured in 33 points in a 60-57 loss at Endicott on December 12, with 26 of her points coming in the second half. Two games later, Worcester led all players with 23 points in a 64-59 upset victory over No. 8 ranked University of Chicago on December 30.
