NEWBA Announces Weekly Awards for February 5

Peace Kabari 
Trinity College
Junior • Guard • Manchester, N.H.

Kabari led Trinity to a pair of NESCAC wins last week, averaging 22 points, nine rebounds, five assists & four steals per game. She shot 54.8 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from beyond the arc. Kabari scored a career-high 28 points and added five boards, five assists, three steals and a block in Friday's 80-76 win over Wesleyan. She then posted a double-double with 16 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, five steals & two blocks on Sunday in a 64-54 triumph at Connecticut College. Kabari was also named the NESCAC Player of the Week. 

Meghan Graff
Bates College
Freshman • Guard • South Portland, Maine

Graff was Bates' top scorer in all three games last week as the Bobcats went 2-1. She averaged 17.3 points per game on 47.6 percent shooting from the field, while also chipping in with 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Graff opened the week with 17 points and two steals in a 61-31 victory over Regis on Tuesday. She followed that up with 16 points and three assists on Friday as Bates defeated Hamilton 60-52, before wrapping up the week with 19 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal in a 53-43 loss to Amherst on Saturday.

  • Jenni-Rose DiCecco, Suffolk (Sophomore | Guard | Falmouth, Mass.) - DiCecco led Suffolk to a 3-0 week, averaging 18.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.7 assists per game. She registered a double-double with 24 points, ten rebounds, four assists and four steals in a 69-41 win at Pine Manor on Thursday. Against Simmons on Saturday, DiCecco finished with 26 points, seven rebounds, five steals & two assists.  
  • Angelina Marazzi, Fitchburg State (Junior | Guard | Manchester, N.H.) - Marazzi turned in impressive offensive numbers in a 1-1 week for the Falcons, as she averaged 28 points per game on 53.8 percent shooting from the field. The junior posted a 30-point effort in a 76-60 loss to Salem State on Wednesday. Marazzi followed that performance up by recording 26 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 65-62 triumph over Pine Manor on Saturday. 
  • Hannah Marks, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Senior | Guard | Waldoboro, Maine) - Marks was a sharpshooter for the Monks last week, shooting 71.4 percent (15-of-21) from the floor, 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from three-point range, and 100 percent (5-of-5) from the free throw line while averaging 21.5 points per game in a pair of conference victories. The senior guard was nearly perfect from the floor (10-for-11) and downtown (4-for-5) with 24 points versus Rivier on Thursday, before adding 19 points with four rebounds against Johnson & Wales on Saturday.
  • Payton Ouimette, Babson (Senior | Forward | Medfield, Mass.) - Ouimette recorded three double-doubles and averaged 20.7 points, 12.7 rebounds & 1.3 assists per game to help Babson pick up two wins in three games last week. The senior forward had 21 points and 15 boards in a 67-51 victory over Emerson on Monday, and followed it up with 13 points and 13 rebounds in Wednesday's loss at Emerson. She then poured in a career-high 28 points to go along with 10 boards and two assists in Saturday's 67-56 triumph over WPI. 
  • Kenzie Worcester, Husson (Senior | Guard | Washburn, Maine) - Worcester helped the Eagles extend their winning streak to eight games while averaging 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game in a 2-0 week for Husson. She scored 32 points to go with seven boards, four assists & two steals in an 85-45 triumph over Northern Vermont-Johnson on Friday. Worcester capped her week with nine points, seven assists, six rebounds & two steals as the Eagles defeated Northern Vermont-Lyndon 64-44 on Saturday.
