Senior forward Olivia Shaw of the University of New England is the Presto Sports NEWBA Player of the Week for games played from January 29-February 4. Shaw averaged 17 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.3 steals, 3.3 assists and 1.7 blocks per game in a 3-0 week for the Nor'easters. She posted two double-doubles, beginning with a 23-point, 15-rebound, four-steal, four-block, three-assist effort on Tuesday in a 63-50 win over Eastern Nazarene. Shaw then recorded 19 points, 14 boards, five steals and four assists in a victory over Nichols on Thursday, before totaling nine points, 11 rebounds, four steals, three assists and one block against the Bison on Saturday. For the week, she shot 48.8 percent from the field.

Freshman forward Melissa Gray of Westfield State University earns NEWBA Rookie of the Week honors after scoring a game and season-high 22 points in the Owls' only contest of the week, an 84-76 setback to Bridgewater State on Saturday. Gray shot 57.1 percent from both the field (8-of-14) and beyond the arc (4-of-7) while making both of her free throw attempts and adding two steals and two rebounds in Westfield State's first MASCAC loss of the season.

  • Alayne Felix, Maine Maritime (Junior • Forward • Mahopac, N.Y.) - Felix helped lead the Mariners to a 2-0 week with a pair of NAC victories over Colby-Sawyer College and New England College. The junior averaged 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, one steal and one block per game, while shooting 50 percent from the floor. In the Mariners' 54-37 win over Colby-Sawyer, Felix tallied 11 points, six assists, five rebounds, a steal and a block. Felix followed that up on Saturday in the team's 59-55 win with a team-high 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block. 
  • Alexis Hackett, Suffolk (Sophomore • Guard • Charlton, Mass.) - Hackett averaged just under a double-double during a 2-1 week for the Rams with 15.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. She shot 51.3 percent from the field and 35.7 behind-the-arc to lead the way for Suffolk. After posting 15 points and four rebounds at Emmanuel, she put together a 14-point, eight-board day against Anna Maria on Thursday. Hackett's top performance came at Mount Ida on Saturday with an impressive 17-point, 17-rebound afternoon in a 65-56 victory over the Mustangs.
  • Hannah Nicholson, Brandeis (Sophomore • Forward • Sunderland, Vt.) - Nicholson averaged a double-double in a 1-1 week for the Judges against UAA opponents. In a 73-70 loss at Case Western Reserve on Friday, she had 11 points and 11 rebounds on 5-of-11 shooting from the field and 1-of-2 from the free throw line. In a 60-52 win over Carnegie Mellon on Sunday, she finished with 16 points and 15 rebounds, one shy of a career-high. She hit 6-of-14 shots from the field and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe. Nicholson scored eight of her 16 points in the third quarter as the Judges erased a nine-point deficit to win. 
  • Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda, Emmanuel (Sophomore • Guard • South Boston, Mass.) - Ramirez-Tejeda helped Emmanuel to a 3-0 week, posting three double-doubles in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action. The sophomore opened the week with an 18-point, 14-rebound outing against Suffolk and closed the week out with a 21-point, 12-rebound effort against Simmons. On the week, Ramirez-Tejeda averaged 17 pts and 13.7 rebounds per game.
  • Brittany Stone, Regis (Senior • Forward • West Bridgewater, Mass.) - Stone registered double-doubles in both of Regis' games last week, with 14 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks at Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Thursday and 20 points, 11 boards, two steals and two blocks against Becker on Saturday. Among Stone's 11 rebounds on Saturday against the Hawks was the 1,000th of her career.
  • Tianna Sugars, Colby-Sawyer (Sophomore • Forward • Oxford, Maine) - Sugars averaged 13.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Chargers. She recorded her 10th and 11th double-doubles of the season. Sugars began the week with 10 points and a game-high 14 rebounds in a 54-37 loss to Maine Maritime on Friday. She then posted 17 points and a game best 12 boards in an 80-72 victory over Husson the following day.
