Sophomore forward Emily Benway of Saint Joseph's College (Maine) is this week's Presto Sports NEWBA Player of the Week. Benway averaged 20.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 64.3% (18-28) from the field in a 2-0 week for the Monks. The sophomore forward netted a career-high 26 points with 13 boards in a 58-47 win over Colby on Saturday, after recording 15 points, six rebounds and three assists in a 71-66 victory over Bates on Thursday.

Suffolk University
Freshman • Guard • Charlton, Mass.

Freshman guard Alexis Hackett of Suffolk University earns NEWBA Rookie of the Week honors after averaging 13.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game in a 2-0 week for the Rams. She finished with 11 points, eight boards, five assists and two steals in a 61-60 win over Johnson & Wales on Wednesday, before tallying 16 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists in Saturday's 79-58 victory over Curry. Hackett shot 62.5% from beyond the arc for the week, making 5-of-8 three-point attempts.

  • Emily Anderson, Western New England (Sr., F, Rocky Hill, Conn.) - Anderson averaged 24.3 points per game on 54.3% (25-of-46) shooting from the field, 60% (12-of-20) from three-point range and 91.7% from the free throw line as the Golden Bears went 3-0 last week with a pair of 20+ point victories. She opened her week with a career-high 25 points in a 78-58 CCC win over Nichols on Tuesday, before topping that mark with 33 points in Thursday's 97-93 triumph at Westfield State. Anderson scored eight of her 33 points in overtime and connected on 7-of-9 three-pointers against the Owls. The Rocky Hill, Conn. native, who also averaged 6.3 rebounds per game during the week, scored 15 points in Saturday's 74-40 win at Elms.
  • Charlie Boyle, Emerson (So., C, Scotts Valley, Calif.) - Boyle averaged 16 points and 9 rebounds per game to help lead Emerson to a 3-0 week, which included a huge win over Connecticut College in which she scored 21 points on 10-13 shooting to go along with nine rebounds, three steals, two blocks and two assists.
  • Kara Holinski, MIT (So., G, Livonia, Mich.)In a 2-0 week for MIT, Holinski averaged 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and two assists while playing 40 minutes in both games. On Tuesday, she tallied a game-high 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting in addition to recording eight rebounds, three steals, and an assist in a 63-51 victory over NEWMAC foe Wheaton College. Holinski capped off the week with a game-high 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting to go along with seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals in Saturday's non-conference 65-50 win at Simmons College.
  • Payton Ouimette, Connecticut College (So., F, Medfield, Mass.)Ouimette averaged 18.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in a 2-1 week for the Camels. She exploded with a career high 32 points in an 84-75 win against Roger Williams on Thursday, and currently ranks fourth in NESCAC scoring and rebounding for the 8-2 Camels with 12.3 points and 8.7 boards per game.
  • Giovanna Pickering, Babson (Sr., G, Hull, Mass.)Pickering averaged 16.5 points, 5.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals while shooting 51.9 percent from the floor in a pair of wins for the Beavers. The senior guard scored 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting to go along with three assists in a 75-68 win over Brandeis on Monday. Pickering then recorded 10 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and four steals as Babson stayed unbeaten in conference play with a 64-34 victory over Wellesley on Wednesday.
