Senior center Bridget Quilty of Roger Williams University is the Presto Sports NEWBA Player of the Week for games played from January 2-8. Quilty, who was also named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week, averaged 20.7 points on 50% shooting, 8.0 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game as the Hawks went 3-0 to remain unbeaten in conference play. She opened her week with 25 points, seven boards and two assists in a 63-48 win at Eastern Nazarene, and followed that up with 17 points, 11 rebounds, seven blocks and two assists in a 58-51 victory over the University of New England. Quilty capped her week with 20 points, six rebounds and two steals as the Hawks defeated Wentworth on the road, 65-34.

Freshman • Guard • Rockland, Mass.

Freshman guard Kyra Rose of Fitchburg State earns NEWBA Rookie of the Week honors after turning in a pair of impressive scoring performances. Rose averaged 33.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game in a pair of setbacks for the Falcons. She opened her week by netting a game-best 27 points (on 8-for-16 shooting) to go with eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block in a 102-74 loss to Westfield State on Wednesday. On Saturday, Rose tied a Fitchburg State single-game scoring record with 39 points to go along with four boards and two steals in a 71-58 setback to Colby-Sawyer. She shot 52.4% (22-of-42) from the field, 50% (3-of-6) from three-point range, and 76% (19-of-25) from the free throw line for the week.

  • Ava Adamopoulos, Springfield (Sr., C, Ludlow, Mass.) - Adamopoulos was dominant in a pair of NEWMAC wins for the Pride this past week, as she averaged 19.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per contest on the week. In a 72-63 win over Clark, Adamopoulos netted 18 points to go along with seven rebounds and four blocks, before leading Springfield to a convincing 73-55 win over MIT with 21 points on 10-of-14 (71.4%) shooting, seven rebounds and a pair of assists in just 24 minutes.
  • Kaitlyn Berkel, Worcester State (So., F, Waterford, Conn.) - Berkel averaged 18.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, and 2.5 steals in a 2-0 week for the Lancers. She racked up 17 points and 10 rebounds with three blocks in a 63-54 win over MCLA, and then scored a team-best 20 points to go with 10 rebounds in another conference win over Salem State. Berkel shot 55.2 percent from the field throughout the week.
  • Mairead Hynes, Connecticut College (Jr., F, Mahopac, N.Y.)Hynes averaged 17.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in a 2-1 week for the Camels. She had 17 points and six rebounds in a 70-53 win against Hamilton on Friday. Earlier in the week, she recorded 15 points and six boards in an 89-40 triumph at Mitchell College. Saturday afternoon, Hynes netted 20 points with seven boards in a two-point loss to Middlebury. Hynes connected at a 64% clip from the field this week (21-for-33) and shot 90% from the charity stripe (9-for-10).
  • Kelsey Schiebel, Suffolk (Sr., G, Windham, N.H.) - Schiebel averaged 22.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game in a 2-0 week for the Rams. She opened her week with 29 points, five assists and four steals in a 77-62 victory at Pine Manor, before recording 15 points, six boards and three assists on Sunday in a 66-45 triumph at St. Joseph (Conn.). Schiebel shot 48.3% from the field, 52.9% from three-point range, and 87.5% from the charity stripe for the week. 
  • Taylor V'Dovec, MIT (So., G, Blaine, Wash.)In a 1-1 week for MIT, V'Dovec averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals while shooting 55.2 percent from the floor. She kicked the week off by tallying 16 points, four rebounds, and three steals in 22 minutes of a 66-46 victory over Coast Guard last Wednesday. V'Dovec followed this up with a career-high and game-high 25 points on 12-of-20 shooting (60 percent) to go along with seven rebounds and two steals in a 73-55 loss to Springfield on Saturday.
