Senior center Alycia Rackliffe of Framingham State University is the Presto Sports NEWBA Player of the Week for games played from January 23-29. Rackliffe averaged 24.0 points per game on 75% (21-of-28) shooting from the field and 85.7% from the free throw line to go with 13.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 assists per game in a 2-0 week for the Rams. On Wednesday against Fitchburg State, Rackliffe scored 24 points and grabbed ten boards in just 23 minutes of action as Framingham State rolled to a 99-44 triumph. She followed that performance up with 24 points, 16 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and two assists on Saturday in a 95-59 victory over Salem State.

Freshman • Guard • Rockland, Mass.

Freshman guard Kyra Rose of Fitchburg State University earns NEWBA Rookie of the Week honors for the second straight week and third time this season after averaging 20.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.7 steals per game in a 1-2 week for the Falcons. She posted a double-double of 36 points and 13 rebounds to go with five assists, three steals and two blocks in a 94-89 overtime win over Dean College on Monday, before adding nine points, four boards, two assists and one steal in a 99-44 setback to Framingham State on Wednesday. She capped the week with another double-double of 17 points and ten rebounds to go along with two assists, four steals and three blocks in a 108-55 setback to Westfield State on Saturday.

  • Emily Anderson, Western New England (Sr., F, Rocky Hill, Conn.) - Anderson averaged 24.0 points per game on 45% shooting (14-of-31) from the field, 41% (7-of-17) from beyond the arc, and 100% (13-of-13) from the free throw line in a 1-1 week for the Golden Bears. In Tuesday's victory over Salve Regina, Anderson recorded 21 points to go with nine boards. She followed that up on Saturday by shooting 7-of-14 from the field, 4-of-8 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 9-of-9 from the charity stripe on her way to a 27-point performance in a setback to UNE. The senior forward averaged 7.0 rebounds per game for the week. 
  • Chandler Guerrette, Husson (Sr., G, Presque Isle, Maine) - Guerrette averaged 18.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.0 steals per game last week as the Eagles extended their program record home winning streak to 21 games.  Against New England College on Friday, Guerrette scored 19 points while snatching up four steals in a 72-51 win. The next day, Guerrette had 18 points while sinking 7-of-10 field goals as Husson took down Colby-Sawyer by a score of 90-71. 
  • Heather LeBlanc, Norwich (Sr., F, Sanford, Maine) - LeBlanc helped the Cadets to a 3-0 week, averaging 17.3 points and 13.7 rebounds per game. She posted three-straight double-doubles, beginning her week with 15 points and 11 rebounds against Lyndon State, before equaling a career-high in rebounds (18) versus Simmons - while also scoring 16 points against the Sharks. In her final game of the week, LeBlanc scored 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds against Lasell on Saturday. 
  • Giovanna Pickering, Babson (Sr., G, Hull, Mass.) - Pickering had an impressive week for Babson, averaging 28.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals over two games while shooting 44.9% from the field. The senior guard scored 19 of her career-high 31 points in the fourth quarter and both overtime periods in Wednesday's 78-74 2OT loss to MIT. Pickering then poured in 17 fourth quarter points and finished with 26 points, five boards, three assists and two steals to help the Beavers' rally from a 15-point deficit to defeat Smith, 76-72, on Saturday.
  • Brittany Stone, Regis (Jr., F, West Bridgewater, Mass.) - Stone posted a pair of double-doubles in a 3-0 week for Regis. The junior forward averaged 18.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game while shooting 66.7% from the field. She finished with 20 points, ten rebounds and two blocks in Tuesday's 72-42 win at Wheelock, before tallying 12 points and five boards in Thursday's 83-52 triumph over Mitchell. Stone wrapped up her week with 22 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks on Saturday in a 102-47 victory over Daniel Webster.
