Trinity College senior center Mackenzie Griffin is the NEWBA/Prestosports Player of the Week for November 30. In a trio of games over the Thanksgiving Holiday, Griffin averaged 25 points and 15.7 rebounds while earning MVP honors at the Dr. Betty Shabazz Tournament at Medgar Evers College.  Griffin had 19 points and 15 boards in a pre-Thanksgiving win over Curry, then added 27 points and 13 rebounds in the Shabazz tournament opener against New Rochelle.  She capped off the week by scoring 29 points and pulling down 19 boards against Eastern Nazarene.

Connecticut College first year forward Payton Ouimette averaged 18 points and 12.5 rebounds in another big week for the undefeated Camels (4-0). Ouimette had 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead Connecticut College in an 85-71 victory at Roger Williams University Tuesday. She scored 15 points and hauled in 14 boards en route to her third double-double of the season in a 75-57 triumph over Suffolk in Boston Sunday. Ouimette connected on 50% of her shots from the field (14-for-28) this week. She was a perfect 7-for-7 from the foul line and was 1-for-1 from three-point distance.

Honor Roll
  • Lauren Hayden, University of New England (Sr., G, Chantilly, Va.) - Hayden scored a career high 26 points as the Nor'easters knocked off nationally ranked Bowdoin College.  Hayden bested her previous career high by seven points on 8-for-10 shooting from the floor and 10-for-14 from the line.
  • Desi Smith, Colby College (Sr., G, Watertown, Wisc.) - Smith averaged 19.5 points, shot 70 percent from the field, 50 percent from 3-point range, and averaged 2.5 steals in a 2-0 week. She shot 10-for-13, including a 2-for-3 effort from 3-point range, in a 62-57 win at Bates on Sunday. She scored about 42 percent of her team's points against the Bobcats. Smith shot 6-for-6 in the first half and scored 14 of Colby's 29 points in a 29-29 tie at the break. Smith started the week with 13 points, 57.1 percent shooting, and three steals in 18 minutes in a victory over Thomas. 
  • Kiley Shoemaker, Wheaton College (Mass) (Sr., F, Fayetteville, N.Y.) - Shoemaker scored her 1000th point in a win vs RPI at the Williams tournament where she shot 73% from the field, 80% from the free throw line. In a two point loss at Springfield, she had 5 blocks, all in the second half, along with 16 rebounds and 14 points.  In two games, Shoemaker shot 58.6% from the field, 75% from the line, with a pair of double-doubles.
  • Kelsi McNamara, St. Joseph's (ME) (Fr., G, West Newbury, Mass.) - McNamara netted 35 points in a 74-67 victory over University of Southern Maine on Sunday night. The freshman guard was 6-8 from three-point land and 11-12 from the FT line en route to recording the third-most points in SJC women's basketball history and most since the 1993-94 season. She also scored 10 points with five assists, five rebounds and five steals in a triumph over Maine-Farmington on Monday evening.
  • Bridget Quilty, Roger Williams University (Jr., C, Duxbury, Mass.) - Quilty lifted the Hawks to a 1-1 week, averaging 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 4.5 blocks.  Against Connecticut College, Quilty had 10 points, eight rebounds, and eight blocks, then added 16 points, 14 boards, and another block in a win over Rhode Island College.
