Bowdoin senior center Shannon Brady is the NEWBA/Prestosports Player of the Week for December 7.  Brady averaged a double-double last week, averaging 19.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in a pair of big wins for the Polar Bears. Brady was especially dominant in Bowdoin's 18-point win over third-ranked Tufts on Saturday, scoring 27 points on 11-16 shooting, including 15 rebounds and four blocks. She also netted 12 points and eight rebounds in just 24 minutes of play in Bowdoin's mid-week 31-point win at Southern Maine.

Bowdoin first-year Abigail Kelly averaged 10.5 points, 5.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds in a pair of wins last week. Kelly scored a team-best 13 points in a mid-week win at Southern Maine before recording eight points and five assists in Saturday's win over Tufts. For the week, she connected on 5-9 from three-point range. 

Honor Roll
  • Sierra Ducey, Emerson College (So., F, Poway, Calif.) - Ducey had double-doubles in both games last week. After dropping three games in a row, Ducey took over the game against Clark and posted numbers of 21 points and 17 rebounds (both career highs) to go along with three assists, two steals and one block.
  • Amanda Hawkesworth, Regis College (Jr., F, Abington, Mass.) - Hawkesworth averaged 17.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.7 steals per game. She shot 64.% from the field and converted 82.6% of her foul shots. Hawkesworth recorded her second double-double of the season against Mitchell when she tallied 16 points and came down with 11 rebounds. She also scored 20 points for the second time this season in the win against Daniel Webster on Saturday after making 5-of-9 (64%) from the hardwood and 10-of-13 (76.9%) from the charity stripe. 
  • Kelsey Cognetta, Keene State College (Sr., G, Stamford, Conn.) - Cognetta kept the Owls perfect this season by averaging 20 points per game, including a season high 23 as the Owls knocked off previously unbeaten UMass Dartmouth.  For the week, Cognetta shot 58% from the field and was perfect (14-for-14) from the foul line.
  • Amanni Fernandez, Williams College (So., G, Queens, N.Y.) - Fernandez registered a double-double in a 81-59 win over previously unbeaten Clarkson, scoring 20 points and dishing out 11 assists. She also had three steals and four rebounds. She shot 50 percent from the three-point line for the week and also averaged 7 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 2 steals per game in a 3-0 week. 
  • Giovanna Pickering, Babson College (Jr., G, Hull, Mass.) - Pickering averaged 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals as the Beavers picked up a pair of double-digit league victories last week. She scored 10 points, grabbed five boards and dished out three assists in Wednesday's 72-59 win over Emerson, and then finished with 24 points, a season-high seven assists, five rebounds and four steals to help Babson to a 81-56 triumph at Smith. 
  • Mackenzie Griffin, Trinity College (Conn.) (Sr., C, Stamford, Conn.)Griffin was named tournament MVP of the Ed Hockenbury Classic at Norwich University this past weekend, averaging 19.7 points, and 12.7 rebounds. It marked the third time she was named the MVP of a tournament this season.
