St. Joseph's of Maine Senior Morgan Cahill is the NEWBA/Prestosports Player of the Week for December 14.  Cahill averaged 21.3 points and 14.3 rebounds while shooting 67.4% (29-43) from the floor in a 2-1 week for Saint Joseph's. The senior captain tallied 25 points and 13 boards in a two-point loss to Colby on Sunday and netted 27 points with a career-high 16 rebounds and three blocks while making 13 of 16 attempts from the field in a victory over Bates College on Thursday. Cahill added 12 points and 14 boards while playing just 24 minutes in a blowout triumph over Fisher College on Saturday.

Worcester helped Husson extend their win streak to four with a 2-0 week, as the Eagles defeated two NAC opponents and is currently the only team remaining undefeated in conference play. The guard started her week with a game and career-high 17, five boards, one assist and four steals performance in a 69-45 win over Colby-Sawyer on Friday night. She then followed that with a game-high and tying her career high by recording 17 points, five boards, four steals and two assist, as the Eagles handed NEC its fifth-straight lost on the season with a 72-62 victory on Saturday afternoon.

  • Kayla Croswell, Western Connecticut State University (Fr., G, Norwalk, Conn.) - In her only game last week, Croswell posted a double-double with 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting with 11 rebounds, while adding seven assists and a steal in a 77-59 win over Southern Maine.
  • Kelsey Cognetta, Keene State College (Sr., G, Stamford, Conn.) - Cognetta scored 11 of her 24 points in overtime to keep Keene State undefeated this season, shooting 7-for-15 from the floor (3-for-4 from three) and 7-for-9 from the foul line in a 68-56 win over UMass Boston.
  • Michela North, Tufts University (Jr., F/C, Duxbury, Mass.) - North led the Jumbos in scoring and rebounding in every game during a busy week. Her 11 points in the first quarter against Bridgewater helped Tufts take a 25-9 lead on their way to an easy win. She had 13 points and 9 rebounds in the third quarter when Tufts pulled away at Wheaton on Thursday. She capped the week with a career-high 26 points at Connecticut College on Saturday.
  • Mairead Hynes, Connecticut College (So., F, Mahopac, N.Y.) - Hynes averaged 20.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.5 assists to lead the undefeated Camels (8-0) to two more wins this week. Hynes scored 10 of her 15 points in the second half Saturday to lead the Camels past ninth ranked Tufts. Earlier in the week, Hynes exploded with 26 points, 13 rebounds, four steals and two assists in a 75-50 win against the Coast Guard. 
  • Forbasaw Nkamebo, Westfield State University (Sr., C, Amherst, Mass.) - Nkamebo averaged 18.5 points and 10 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Owls last week.  The senior center came up big in a 91-79 win over UMass Boston with a 22-point, 13-rebound performance, and added 15 points and seven boards in a loss to Smith.
