- Chelsea Vujs, Western New England University (Jr., G/F,
Berling, Conn.) - Vujs paced WNE in
scoring during a 1-1 week in the CCC tournament with 20.0 points
per game on 65.0 percent shooting from the field. She tied her
career high with 28 points--including 17 in the second half--on 8
of 10 from the floor and pulled down a game-best eight rebounds in
an 80-75 conference quarterfinal win over Eastern Nazarene,
avenging a regular-season sweep by the Lions. She scored 12 points
and had nine rebounds at UNE in the CCC Semifinals. She also led
WNE in field goal percentage and rebounding (8.5 rpg).
- Meghan O'Sullivan, Castleton State College (Sr., F,
Merrick, N.Y.) - O’Sullivan
came through when the Spartans needed it this weekend, helping the
team claim their second straight NAC Championship and earning
Tournament MVP honors in the process. The senior averaged 15.5
points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while playing 66 of a
possible 80 minutes. O’Sullivan set the tone in the NAC
Semifinals, drilling a three to open the game and finishing with 17
points as Castleton blew out Colby-Sawyer 82-62. In the NAC title
game she scored a team-high 14 points while grabbing five rebounds
and blocking three shots to lead the Spartans to a 45-40 victory.
This is O’Sullivan’s third NAC Title and the fourth
straight year she scored in double figures in the NAC
Championship.
- Linnett Graber, Babson College (Jr., G, Roseland,
N.J.) - Graber had a tremendous week averaging
10 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists on her way to earning
Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors as Babson won three times
to claim the NEWMAC championship. She scored 19 points to go along
with three boards and three assists as the Beavers rallied from a
16-point first-half deficit to upset top-seeded Springfield, 64-57,
on Saturday. Then on Sunday, she finished with seven points, nine
rebounds and five assists as Babson cruised past Wheaton
77-51.
- Denisha Parks, Elms College (Sr., F, New Bedford,
Mass.) - Parks wrapped her collegiate
career averaging 26 points and 13 rebounds in her final two games.
In an NECC first round matchup with Daniel Webster, Parks
registered her first 20-20 performance of the season with a
game-high 27 points with a season-high 20 rebounds and three
assists. During the Blazers NECC semifinal loss to Southern
Vermont, Parks poured in 25 points with six rebounds and two
steals.
- Rachel Kusz, Bridgewater State University (Sr., G,
Worcester, Mass.) - The MASCAC Tournament
MVP, Kusz averaged 14.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0
steals while shooting 63% (10-16) from the floor and 57% (8-14)
from three-point range in the Bears' two games during the
tournament. Connected on two clutch three-pointers in the final
four minutes of the championship game win over top-seeded Westfield
State including the game-winner with 37 seconds left. She also set
single-season school mark for made three-pointers, currently at
62.
