- Stephanie D'Annolfo, Keene State College (So., G,
Tyngsborough, Mass.) - D'Annolfo averaged
a double-double with 11.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and added 5.5
assists, 4.0 steals and 1.5 blocks per game in a 2-0 week for the
Owls. In a 61-57 win over RPI, D'Annolfo delivered an all around
performance with 14 points, eight rebounds, eight steals, six
assists, and three blocks. She followed that with a career high 17
rebounds and passed out five assists in Keene State's 58-47 LEC
victory over UMass Boston.
- Aliah Curry, Norwich University (Sr., G, Windsor,
Mass.) - I Curry had a strong showing this
week as the Cadets. Curry, who was ranked second in the nation with
26.8 points per game last week, posted an average of 19 points per
game, shooting 46.7 percent from beyond the arc. Curry led Norwich
to a trio of wins, starting with a 55-49 win over in-state foe,
Middlebury College as she posted 14 points for the win before
adding 18 more in the Cadets' 67-50 win over MCLA in the opening
round of the 2014 Ed Hockenbury Classic Friday night. The Cadets
won the Hockenbury Classic title, for the first time in four years,
with a 65-48 victory over Maine-Fort Kent with Curry posting a
team-high 25 points.
- Kelly Coleman, University of New England (Sr., F,
Portland, Conn) - Coleman led the No. 20 Nor'Easters
to a pair of wins last week, averaging 16.0 points and eight
rebounds while shooting 55.6% from the field. Against Eastern
Nazarene, Coleman had 15 points and seven boards, then added 17
points and nine boards against Endicott.
- Dani Davis, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Sr., G,
East Granby, Conn.) - Davis averaged
17.5 points and 5.0 rebounds as the Crimson and Gray won its first
two NEWMAC contests this past week. The senior registered 16 of her
game-best 21 points in the first half and pitched in with six
rebounds, three assists and three steals as WPI knocked off
visiting Coast Guard 59-50 on Wednesday. Davis tallied 14 points,
including the game-winning free throw with 0.2 seconds remaining,
in the Engineers’ thrilling 63-62 victory Saturday over
Babson.
- Chelsea Vujs, Western New England University (Jr., G/F,
Berlin, Conn.) - Vujs averaged a double-double
of 12.5 points and eye-popping 18.0 rebounds, last week. She also
shot 50 percent from the field and had seven assists and four
steals in two games. Her best performance of game highs 16 points
and CCC-season-high 26 rebounds--which are two shy of the WNE
single-game record--helped the Golden Bears defeat Roger Williams
for the first time in three seasons. The 26 boards are also the
second-highest in an NCAA Division III contest in
2014-15.
