Senior Tara Gabelman averaged 17 points, 14.5 rebounds, four steals, three assists and 1.5 blocks per game in a perfect 2-0 week for the Camels to earn NEWBA/Prestosports Player of the Week honors.  Tuesday night, Gabelman had 16 points and 10 rebounds to help the Camels knock Western Connecticut State University from the unbeaten ranks. Sunday, Gabelman collected her 600th rebound en route to her fourth consecutive double-double in an 81-36 victory against Mitchell, finishing with 18 points and 19 rebounds for the Camels. Gabelman shot 68 percent from the field in the two wins and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe.

Lauren McCall earns the NEWBA/Prestosports Rookie of the Week award after averageing 20.5 points and 8 rebounds per game to lead UMass Dartmouth to a 1-1 mark this past week. The freshman from North Attleboro, Mass. shot 70.8 percent from the field, while converting on 87.5 percent of her attempts from the foul line. Ronaghan posted her first collegiate double-double against Salve Regina with 23 points and 10 boards, while also recording season-highs in assists (5) and blocks (4). On Sunday, she scored 18 points, on 8-for-11 from the floor, and pulled in six boards at Bridgewater State.

  • Megan Boutilette, Bridgewater State University (Sr., F, Charlton, Mass.) - Boutilette averaged 21.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.0 blocks while shooting 61.3% (19-31) from the floor in a 1-1 week for the Bears. Posted a double-double with 26 points and 16 rebounds to go along with six assists, two steals and two blocks in a 99-86 win over UMass Dartmouth. Tallied 17 points, nine rebounds, three assists, a steal and two blocks in a 74-61 setback to Rhode Island College.
  • Ellen Cook,  Williams College (Jr., G, Eugene, Ore.) - Cook helped Williams to a pair of wins last week, averaging 13 points, four rebounds, and five assists for the Ephs.  Against Eastern Connecticut State, she collected 16 points with three steals and three blocks, and added 10 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in a victory over MCLA.
  • Vandell Andrade, Rhode Island College (So., F, Providence, R.I.) -  Andrade helped the Anchorwomen to a 1-1 week, averaging 18.5 points, nine rebounds, and three steals.  In a 13 point win over Bridgewater State, Andrade tossed in 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the floor, with seven rebounds and two steals, then posted a double-double against Roger Williams, with 23 points and 11 rebounds, knocking down 11 of her 17 shot attempts.
  • Rebecca Knight, University of Southern Maine (Jr., G/F, Alfred, Maine) - Knight posted her second double-double of the season with 13 points, a career-high 15 rebounds and a game-high five assists in a 74-54 win over Bates. The 5-9 small forward was 6-for-12 from the field in 26 minutes played. She added a steal. In an 11-3 run in the second half that sealed the win for USM, Knight had four points, four rebounds and a pair of assists. In a 60-49 win at SJC, Knight had a game-high nine rebounds adding eight points and three steals as the Huskies claimed their 20th Costello Cup win over the Monks in the 24-game series. 
  • Erika Bornemann, UMass-Dartmouth (Sr., F, Canton, Mass.) - Bornemann became the seventh women's basketball player in UMass Dartmouth history to eclipse the 1,000-point barrier against Salve Regina. The Canton, Mass. product posted a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while also recording four blocks. Bornemann reached the mark in scoring with a jumper from the top of the paint with 15 minutes, 17 seconds remaining in the second half.
