- Sarah Collins, Babson College (Sr., C, Weymouth,
Mass.) - Collins led Babson to a pair of conference
victories this week, averaging 18.0 points, 14.0 rebounds, 2.5
blocks, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 56.0
percent (14-for-25) from the field. On Wednesday, she scored 15
points, pulled down 17 rebounds, and added three blocks, two
assists, and one steal in a 58-41 win over NEWMAC-rival WPI. Then
on Saturday, the All-American center recorded 21 points, 11 boards,
two assists, two blocks, and three steals in a 63-43 victory over
Mount Holyoke.
- Aliah Curry, Norwich University (So., G, Windsor,
Mass.) - In a 1-2 week for the Cadets, Curry averaged
a team-best 23.7 points per game on 37.5 shooting from the floor.
She totaled a tournament-high 30 points on 50 percent shooting and
added 10 rebounds against St. Joseph (Vt.) in the opener of the
2012 Ed Hockenbury Classic. She also led Norwich with a team-high
26 points in a loss to Colby-Sawyer on Tuesday.
- Elisha Homich, Bridgewater State University (Sr., G,
Ludlow, Mass.) - Homich averaged 15 points, four
rebounds, four assists and one steal while shooting 84.2% (16-19)
at the free throw line in a perfect 3-0 week for the Bears with
wins over UMass Dartmouth, Bates College and No. 22 Williams
College. Notched 13 points, four rebounds, six assists and two
steals in a 69-55 win over the Corsairs to open the week.
Registered 15 points, six boards and three assists in a 67-55 win
over Bates; and 17 points, two rebounds, three assists and a steal
in a 61-60 triumph over host Williams as the Bears captured the
Williams Holiday Classic. Homich was named MVP of the Holiday
Classic.
- Meaghan O'Keefe, Worcester State University (Sr., C,
Warren, Mass.) - O'Keefe averaged 17.5 points, 12.5
rebounds and two blocks in a 2-0 week for Worcester State as earned
MVP honors at the Norwich Ed Hockenbury Classic. She started off
her week with 10 points and 10 boards in a 60-45 semifinal triumph
over Maine Fort-Kent before she ended the tournament with contest
highs of 25 points, 15 caroms and four blocks in a 62-50 win over
Norwich in the championship.
- Cailin Bullett, Colby-Sawyer College (Sr., G, Millbury,
Mass.) - Bullett filled the stat sheet in a 3-0 week
for Colby-Sawyer. She averaged 14.7 points, 7.7 assists and 6.3
rebounds per game, while shooting 60.7% from the floor. She began
the week with 16 points, nine assists, six boards and four steals
in a win at Norwich. She followed with 14 points, six rebounds and
five assists in the win at Lyndon. Bullett ended the week with 14
points, nine assists and seven rebounds in only 23 minutes in a win
over Johnson.
