Emily Savino earns the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA)/Prestosports Player of the Week for the week of February 4. The tri-captain led the Golden Bears to a 3-0 week to solidify third-place in the Commonwealth Coast Conference standings, averaging 20.7 points, 3.3 assists and 7.3 rebounds while playing all but 4 minutes over three games. She shot 47.4 percent from the field and made 9-of-14 3-pointers for an eye-popping 64.3 percent. She made the game-winning lay-up with 13 seconds left against Salve Regina, as WNE avenged a 22-point loss to the Seahawks earlier in the season, and then she pumped in a season-high 25 points at Wentworth. She jumped two spots to rank sixth on the school's all-time scoring list with 1315 points.

Gribbin dropped in a season-high 17 points against Curry, dished out a season-best nine assists against Gordon, and notched another 17 points in a key road win over Roger Williams, that left UNE with at least a share of the regular-season title. She had a hand in 38% of the Nor'easters' offense during the 3-0 week, averaging 14.0 points and 5.0 assists, and registered an assist/turnover ratio of 3-to-1. She shot 68% from the floor (15 for 22), made 4-of-8 shots from downtown, and collected an additional 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals. UNE's current win streak of 12 games equals the school record.

  • Colleen Moriarty, UMass-Dartmouth (Sr., F, Canton, Mass.) - Moriarty averaged 28 points per game in three games last week, leading UMD to wins over Mount Ida and Lyndon State. She scored 31 of the Corsairs' 48 points against Western Connecticut on Saturday, while averaging 9.3 rebounds per game, making 32 of 51 shots from the field for 62.7 per cent, shot 80 per cent from the free throw line on 20 of 25 shots and blocked five shots.
  • Denisha Parks, Elms College (So., F, Fall River, Mass.) - Elms notched a 3-0 week in NECC action behind the explosive play of Parks, who averaged a double-double of 20.7 points and 12.7 rebounds per game. Parks' 25 against Bay Path was her game high for the week as she finished with 62 total points during the three-game stretch. Parks also secured 15 of her 38 rebounds in a win over Mitchell, added five of her 10 steals against the Mariners, but distributed five of her eight assists in a win over Southern Vermont. 
  • Paulina Solis, Smith College (So., G, Santa Ana, Calif.) - Solis helped Smith to a 3-0 week by averaging 14.0 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.7 steals per contest.  Solis netted 13 points, including the game clinching free throw in an upset of No. 20 Williams College, then poured in 22 points in 20 minutes in a win over Springfield.
  • Cailin Bullett, Colby-Sawyer College (Sr., G, Millbury, Mass.) -Bullett led the Chargers in a 3-0 week with 17.7 points and 57.7 shooting. She added 5.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game. She was 19-20 from the free throw line for the week, which included 13 makes in the win over Thomas to tie a school record. She began the week with a solid 10 point, six rebound, five assist effort in a 67-44 win over NEC. She then scored 12 points and had five rebounds and five assists in a 70-53 win over UMF. Bullett scored a career-high 31 points and added 10 assists in a 91-53 win over Thomas to end the week. She moved into 6th on Colby-Sawyer's all-time scoring list with 1172 career points. 
  • Taras Gabelman, Connecticut College (Jr., F, Irvington, N.Y.) -  Gabelman scored 23 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the floor and 9-10 from the free throw line in a 51-46 win at Hamilton. She missed a double-double by one rebound and also had two assists, three steals, and a block in 32 minutes played.

  • Babson's Sarah Collins recorded her 17th double-double of the season, tops in NCAA Division III.
  • Cathleen O'Connell of Newbury College had her 63rd career double-double.
  • Aliah Curry, from Norwich University, became the first player in GNAC history to score 1,000 points in her first two seasons of play.
  • Bates' Allie Beaulieu moved into 10th place on the Bobcats' all-time scoring list.
