Slonski Western Connecticut State University senior guard Stephanie Slonski has earned the NEWBA/PrestoSports Player of the Week award as a result of her outstanding all-around play during the week of November 28 - December 4. Slonski averaged 14.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while piling up 28 assists in a perfect 3-0 week for the Colonials. She knocked down 63.2% (12-19) of her shots from the field and 70.8% (17-24) of her free throw attempts.The guard was at her best in her team's 83-69 triumph over Connecticut College on Tuesday. In addition to recording a double-double on 18 points and 12 assists, she also pulled down seven rebounds. Ten of her 18 points came from the charity stripe. Slonski scored 10 points in a 72-48 win over Trinity College on Thursday. She followed that up with 15 points, eight assists, five steals and four rebounds in a 69-54 victory over the University of Massachusetts Boston on Saturday.

Parks Elms College first year forward Denisha Parks has earned the NEWBA Rookie of the Week award for the week of November 28 - December 4 after her dominant performances in wins over Anna Maria College and Bard College. Parks amassed 19.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while draining 64.0% (16-25) of her shots from the floor. She exploded for 26 points on 12-of-17 shooting in her team's 71-53 victory over Anna Maria on Wednesday. Three days later, she chipped in with 12 points and six boards in a 71-31 win over Bard. Over the course of the week, Parks accumulated five steals.

  • Catherine O'Connell, Newbury College (Jr, C, Quincy, Mass.) - O'Connell averaged a double-double on 19.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for Newbury College. She led the Nighthawks to an 86-72 triumph over Lasell College with her 20 points and 13 boards on Tuesday. Over the course of the week, the center also chipped in with eight assists, six blocks and six steals.
  • Kaitlyn Bovee, Roger Williams University (So, G, Berlin, Conn.) - Bovee piled up 19.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game to lead Roger Williams University to a 2-1 week. She recorded 25 points and eight boards in her team's thrilling 72-70 overtime triumph over Eastern Nazarene University on Wednesday. The guard went coast-to-coast to hit the game-tying layup in the waning seconds of regulation.
  • Caitlin Bullett, Colby-Sawyer College (Jr, G, Millbury, Mass.) - Bullett guided Colby-Sawyer to a perfect 3-0 week with her outstanding all-around play. In addition to posting 16.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per outing, she also dished out 19 assists. The guard converted 60.0% (18-30) of her shots from the field. She recorded a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards in a 77-65 win over Plymouth State University on Tuesday. 
  • Cynthia Gaudet, Rhode Island College (Sr, G, Coventry, R.I.) - Gaudet piled up 21.3 points per game in a 2-1 week for Rhode Island College. She exploded for 27 points in an 81-73 loss to Emmanuel College on Thursday before netting 20 points in an 84-55 triumph over Plymouth State University on Saturday. Gaudet went 25-of-26 from the free throw line in her team's three games.
  • Lauren Kelleher, Eastern Connecticut State University (Jr, F, Dartmouth, Mass.) - Kelleher tallied 17.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for Eastern Connecticut State University. She was at her best on Saturday, when she erupted for 23 points and 10 boards in a 75-57 victory over the University of Southern Maine. The forward converted 63.2% (12-19) of her shots from the field during the week.
