forward Claire Baecher has earned
the NEWBA/PrestoSports Player of the Week award for the time period
of November 14-27.
Baecher averaged 17.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per
game while piling up 20 blocked shots for the Ephs. She
knocked down 55.1% (27-49) of her shots from the field and 69.2%
(9-13) of her free throw attempts. The forward was named Most
Valuable Player of the Williams Tip-Off Tournament after
leading her team to a 61-39 triumph over Babson College in the
title game. In addition to posting a double-double on 14
points and 10 rebounds, she also racked up nine blocks. One
day earlier, she exploded for 21 points and seven rebounds
in a 56-53 victory over Whitman College. After
collecting 19 points, six rebounds and eight swats in a 62-42
win over Springfield College, Baecher added 14 points and
eight boards in a 87-65 victory over the Massachusetts College of
Liberal Arts. She drained three shots from beyond the arc against
Springfield.

year guard Kelsey Garrity has
earned the NEWBA Rookie of the Week award for the time period of
November 14-27.
Garrity amassed 15.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per
game in leading the Corsairs a 3-1 start. She converted 58.5%
(24-41) of her shots from the floor, dished out nine assists and
came up with 13 steals. The guard reached double digits in the
scoring column in all four of her team's games. Garrity kicked off
her career with 17 points, seven rebounds and six steals in a 65-61
triumph over Salve Regina University. After recording 14 points and
seven boards in a heartbreaking 57-55 setback to the Maine Maritime
Academy, tallied 14 more points and nine rebounds in a 67-61 win
over Curry College. Garrity piled up a career best 18 points to
lead UMass Dartmouth to a 62-57 triumph over Worcester State
University.
