 Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts junior forward Jen Wehner has earned the NEWBA/PrestoSports Player of the Week award for the week of December 6-12. Wehner averaged a double-double on 25.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game in a 2-1 Jen Wehner week for the Trailblazers. She amassed 4.3 blocked shots and 2.0 steals per outing while converting and eye popping 81.1% (30-37) of her shots from the floor. The forward posted double-doubles in all three of her games. She got the week started with 29 points and 11 boards in her team's 83-75 setback at the Albany College of Pharmacy on Tuesday. Wehner followed that with 23 points, 12 rebounds, six blocks and a pair of steals in MCLA's 79-66 triumph over Hartwick College on Thursday. She then closed out her outstanding week with 24 points and 11 boards in a 78-51 victory over Johnson State College on Saturday. She made all 11 of her shots from the field in the contest while logging only 20 minutes.

University of Southern Maine first year guard Erin McNamara has been named NEWBA Rookie of the Week for the week of December 6-12. McNamara guided the Huskies to a pair of victories with her steady play at the point. Over the course of the week, she tallied 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per outing while shooting 38.5% (5-13) from the field and 42.9% (3-7) from beyond the arc. She played all but 11 minutes. McNamara finished with eight points, five rebounds and six assists in Southern Maine's 89-67 victory over Salem State University on Wednesday. Three days later, she helped the Huskies to a 65-57 win over Keene State College with her nine points, four rebounds and two assists. She scored five of her nine points in the second half.

  • Catherine O'Connell, Newbury College (So, C, Quincy, Mass.) - O'Connell piled up 12.6 points and a remarkable 22.3 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week for Newbury College. She was at her best in the Nighthawks' 82-74 victory over Rivier College on Thursday, when she pulled down 27 boards. In the process, she surpassed 500 in her career. O'Connell also chipped in with 2.6 assists and 1.6 blocked shots per game over the course of the week.
  • Colleen Hart (Sr, G, Needham, Mass.) - Hart became Tufts University's all-time leading scorer with her 21 points in a 69-57 win over SUNY New Paltz on Saturday. The guard has now scored 1,261 points over the course over her oustanding career. Teresa Allen's (1985-89) previous record of 1,257 points stood for over 21 years. Hart averaged 20.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game to lead the Jumbos to a perfect 2-0 week.
  • Kathleen King, Babson College (Jr, F, Framingham, Mass.) - King racked up 17.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in leading nationally ranked Babson College to a pair of NEWMAC victories. The forward connected on 55.6% (15-27) of her shots from the field. She totaled 16 points, five boards and four assists in a 70-40 win over MIT on Tuesday. Three days later, she recorded a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds in the Beavers' 59-51 triumph over WPI. Her team has now collected 29 straight league wins.
  • Melissa Teel, Western Connecticut State University (Sr, C, Hamden, Conn.) - Teel amassed 18.5 points and 14.0 rebounds per contest in a 2-0 week for Western Connecticut State University. The center knocked down 63.0% (17-27) of her shots from the field and posted a pair of double-doubles. She collected 18 points and 17 boards in the Colonials' 58-40 triumph over Trinity College on Thursday. Two days later, she came up with 19 points and 11 rebounds in her team's 80-34 victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
  • Rachel Riley, Rhode Island College (Jr, F, Coventry, R.I.) - Riley boosted Rhode Island College to a pair of road wins with her 14.5 points, 15.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. She got her week started with 15 points and 15 boards in a 66-50 victory over Salve Regina University on Tuesday. Riley then tallied 14 points and 15 rebounds on Saturday, when the Anchorwomen edged the University of Massachusetts Boston 59-58. She has seven double-doubles this season.

  • University of Maine Farmington head coach Jamie Beaudoin earned his 200th career victory on Sunday, when the Beavers downed the University of Maine Presque Isle 67-46. Beaudoin has accumulated an overall record of 200-104 in 12 seasons at Maine Farmington.
