New England College junior forward Rachel Williams has earned the NEWBA/PrestoSports Player Rachel Williams of the Week award for the week of January 10-16. Williams enjoyed a monster week for the Pilgrims, who cruised to victories over Colby-Sawyer College and Nichols College. The forward racked up 36.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game while also collecting five assists and four steals. She drained 60.0% (24-40) of her shots from the field and 71.0% (22-31) of her free throw attempts.Williams was at her best on Saturday, when she exploded for a program record 43 points in her team's 71-60 victory over Nichols. She also finished with a game best 14 rebounds in the contest. Four days earlier, Williams piled up game highs of 30 points and 11 boards in New England College's 82-67 win over Colby-Sawyer. Over the course of the week, she netted three shots from beyond the arc.

Roger Williams University first year forward Kaitlyn Bovee has been named NEWBA Rookie of the Kaitlyn Bovee Week for the week of January 10-16. Bovee averaged 11.0 points and 10.7 rebounds per game in a perfect 3-0 week for the Hawks. She converted 52.2% (12-23) of her shots from the floor, 70.0% (7-10) of her free throw attempts and also knocked down a pair of three-pointers. The forward finished with double-doubles in all three of her team's games. After posting 12 points and 10 boards (six offensive) in a 68-50 win over Western New England College on Tuesday, Bovee recorded 10 points and 11 rebounds in a thrilling 60-59 triumph over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Thursday. She then rounded out her week with an 11-point, 11-rebound effort in her team's 58-49 victory over the Wentworth Institute of Technology on Saturday. The first year also collected three assists and three steals in the contest, as Roger Williams remained perfect in league play.

  • Courtney Cochran, University of Southern Maine (Jr, F, Waite, Maine) - Cochran helped the University of Southern Maine to a pair of LEC wins with her 17.0 points and 9.5 boards per contest. She recorded 19 points and 11 rebounds in a 74-71 triumph over Rhode Island College on Tuesday. Four days later, she scored 12 of her 15 points in the second half, as the Huskies overcame a 17-point halftime deficit to defeat Eastern Connecticut State University 73-66.
  • Erika Murphy (Jr, F, Torrington, Conn.) - Murphy enjoyed a dominant week for Elms College, which raced to wins over Becker College and Newbury College. The forward piled up 24.0 points and 15 rebounds per outing. After netting 19 points in a 73-48 triumph over Becker on Tuesday, she registered a career best 29 points in a 63-47 victory over Newbury on Saturday.
  • Ashley Wright, Endicott College (Sr, G, Merrimack, N.H.) - Wright amassed 26.5 points per game in a perfect 2-0 week for Endicott College. The guard became the seventh player in program history to score 1,000 career points on Tuesday, when she racked up 28 in her team's 68-54 win over Nichols College. She nailed a career best eight three-pointers in the win. She followed that up with a 25-point performance in the Gulls' 66-55 victory over Western New England College on Saturday.
  • Courtney Cirillo, Keene State College (Jr, F, Windsor Locks, Conn.) - Cirillo guided Keene State College to a 2-1 week with her 23.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per outing. The forward amassed a double-double on 23 points and 13 boards in a 70-51 loss to nationally ranked Western Connecticut State University on Tuesday. She then netted a career best 33 points in her team's 83-68 triumph over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Saturday.
  • Laurel McWilliams, Norwich University (Sr, F, Swanton, Vt.) - McWilliams registered back-to-back doubles to boost Norwich University to a perfect 2-0 week. The forward averaged 21.5 points and 14.0 rebounds per game. She got her week started with a 19-point, 10-rebound performance in an 83-72 victory over St. Joseph College on Tuesday. Four days later, she led the Cadets to a 68-64 triumph over Simmons College with her 24 points and 18 boards.

Milestones
  • Husson University guard Bethany Sevey netted a program record seven three-pointers in her team's 96-48 vioctory over Johnson State College on Saturday. The senior finished with 39 points in the contest.
  • Longtime WPI head coach Cherise Galasso recorded her 200th career win on January 8, when her squad defeated Wheaton College 61-52. Galasso now sports a 202-153 overall record, including a 167-115 mark in her 11 seasons at WPI. She posted a 35-38 record in three seasons at Regis College.
