Cailin Bullett Scores 31 in Chargers' 91-53 Win over Thomas

NEW LONDON, N.H. – February 2, 2013 – Colby-Sawyer senior Cailin Bullett (Millbury, Mass.) scored a career-high 31 points as the Chargers defeated Thomas 91-53 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

Prior to the game, the Colby-Sawyer seniors were honored for their four years of hard work and dedication to the women's basketball program.   

Colby-Sawyer improves to 17-4 overall and remains perfect in NAC play at 14-0. Thomas falls to 5-14 overall and 4-10 in the conference.

Bullett got off to a hot start as she scored 11 of Colby-Sawyer's first 16 points. She ended the first half with 21 points, which was the total scored by the Thomas team. Colby-Sawyer led 43-21 at the break. The Chargers scored 12 points off nine Thomas turnovers in the frame.

In the second half, Bullett was held to 10 points but piled up seven assists to give her 10 for the game. Colby-Sawyer forced 11 more turnovers and ended the game with a 22-0 edge in points off turnovers. The Chargers committed just four miscues in the game.

Bullett led all scorers with 31 points and added 10 assists. She also was 13-14 from the free throw line, which ties a school record for makes in a game with Noelle Surette '08 who knocked in 13 on December 2, 2006 at Roger Williams. Bullett also past Surette on the all-time scoring list, moving into sixth place with 1172 points. Sophomore Kelsey Cahill (Cumberland, R.I.) recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Taylor DeSanty (North Adams, Mass.) added 11 points, while sophomore Kelsey Bragdon (Wells, Maine) tallied 10 points and eight rebounds.

Thomas received 14 points from its leading scorer freshman Megan Pelletier (Winslow, Maine). She added nine rebounds and two blocks. Freshman Katie McAllister (Pittston, Maine) was the only other Terrier to reach double-figures with 10 points. Senior Jasmine Bishop (Waterville, Maine) added six points and nine rebounds.

Colby-Sawyer travels to Husson on Friday for a 7:30 pm tip. Thomas hosts Fisher on Tuesday at 5:00 pm.
