Suffolk improves to 6-2 on the season, while the Chargers have their three-game win streak snapped and fall to 3-4.

The visitors jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first five minutes, but the Chargers battled back in the next four minutes with a 10-4 run capped by a pair of free throws from Bullett to cut the deficit to 14-10. The Rams pushed the lead to as much as 11 and held a 30-27 lead at the breaks. Suffolk got to the free throw line 14 times in the first, but made only six. The Chargers were 7-9 to keep the game close.

Colby-Sawyer cut the deficit to one basket in the first minute of the second frame thanks to a three-pointer and a layup from junior Ashley Fruzzetti (Raynham, Mass.). Suffolk kept the lead and eventually extended the advantage to 13 points mid-way through the second. Colby-Sawyer slowly chipped away and pulled within a hoop with 21 seconds to play. The Chargers were able to corral a rebound after Suffolk missed the front end of a 1-and-1, giving the home team a chance for a tie or their first lead of the game. The Rams defenders were up to the task and blocked a lay-up attempt, while forcing a desperation heave at the buzzer.

The Rams were led by senior Jacqueline Vienneau (Salem, N.H.). She recorded 21 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Junior Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) scored 19 points and had nine rebounds. Sophomore Tori Brillaud (North Andover, Mass.) collected a game-high 13 boards.
