Women's Basketball Scores Most Points Since 1999 in 101-80 Win at Thomas

WATERVILLE, Maine - February 4, 2012 - Taylor DeSanty (North Adams, Mass.) and Cailin Bullett (Millbury, Mass.) combine for 53 points as the Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team defeated Thomas, 101-80 on Saturday afternoon. The 101 points is the highest total for the Chargers since the team scored 107 against Nichols on February 20, 1999.

The Chargers, who have won six straight, improve to 16-5 overall and 12-2 in the NAC. Thomas falls to 3-17 overall and 3-11 in conference play.

Colby-Sawyer connected on a school record 13 three-pointers in the game and shot 44.8% from beyond the arc.

On the heels of a record setting game for DeSanty, she did not disappoint on Saturday afternoon. She scored 28 points to lead all scorers and climbed into 8th on the school's all-time scoring list and is just one point away from 6th. DeSanty also moved into 9th in all-time made field goals with 407 tying Noelle Surrette '07.

In addition to Bullett's 25 points, she tied a school record with 13 assists in the game. The record was set by Amy Beaton '08 on February 6, 2007 against Curry. Bullett has moved into 5th on the all-time career assists list with 355.

Kelsey Bragdon (Wells, Maine) recorded a double-double with 15 points and a game and career best 10 rebounds. Ashley Fruzzetti (Raynham, Mass.) added 13 points, six boards, and four assists.

The NAC's leading scorer, Karin Bird, scored 27 points for Thomas. She went 13-15 from the free throw line. Jasmine Bishop scored 17 points and pulled down a team best eight rebounds. Cassie Manning was the third Terrier to reach double-figures with 11 points.
