Middlebury Defeats Women's Basketball 59-48

BOSTON, Mass. - November 18, 2012 - The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team fell to Middlebury, 59-48 in Sunday's consolation game of the UMass Boston Tip-Off tournament. 

The Chargers fall to 0-2 and will host nationally ranked Tufts on Tuesday at 5:30 pm. The Panthers even their record to 1-1. 

Senior Taylor DeSanty, who was named to the All-Tournament team, moved into third on Colby-Sawyer's all-time scoring list with 1325 career points. DeSanty was the only Charger to reach double-figures today with 18 points. 

Senior Cailin Bullett added seven points and eight rebounds, while sophomore Kelsey Cahill had eight points and six rebounds. 

Middlebury held a 31-12 lead at the break, but Colby-Sawyer came within four points at 44-40 with five minutes to play. The Chargers could manage just two more field goals to close the game, while the Panthers were able to secure the victory by hitting their free throws.
