Women's Basketball Downs Norwich 66-59

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - November 27, 2012 - The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team defeated Norwich, 66-59 in nonconference action on Tuesday evening. 

The Chargers improve to 1-3 on the season and will begin North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on Thursday with a 5:30 pm home contest with Lyndon. Norwich suffers its first loss of the season to fall to 3-1. 

Colby-Sawyer was led by senior Cailin Bullett's 16 points. She added a game-high nine assists to go with six rebounds and four steals. Senior Taylor DeSanty recorded 13 points and six booards, while junior Ashley Fruzzetti chipped in 11 points. Sophomore Kelsey Cahill registered her second double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore Kelsey Bragdon tied her career best with 10 rebounds. 

The Chargers were able to hold Norwich to 27% shooting from the floor. 

Norwich was led by 26 points from Aliah Curry, while Jessalyn Sweeney was the only other Cadet to reach double-figures with 15 points. Hannah Curler brought down 17 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive glass.
