SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 26, 2018) – The New England Women’s Basketball Association (NEWBA) held its annual Senior All-Star Classic on Saturday afternoon at Ainsworth Gymnasium on the campus of Smith College in Northampton, Mass.
The ‘away’ team won 91-66, led by UMass Dartmouth guard Leah Douty, who made five three-pointers on her way to a game-high 16 points. WPI forward Madison Beck and Springfield College forward Heather King finished with 13 points each, while Wesleyan forward Maddie Bledsoe added 11.
Regis forward Brittany Stone paced the ‘home’ team with 15 points, while Roger Williams forward Mariah Nicholas and Suffolk guard Georgia Bourikas chipped in with 11 each.
At halftime, the 2017-18 NEWBA award winners and All-Region selections were recognized.
