Sophomore forward Mya Villard of Eastern Connecticut is the Presto Sports NEWBA Player of the Week for games played from February 12-18. Villard registered two double-doubles while averaging 24 points, 13.5 rebounds, two assists and one block per game in a 1-1 week for the Warriors. She scored a career-high 33 points and matched her career-high with 15 boards to go with four assists and one block in an 88-81 setback to West Conn. on Wednesday. Villard then turned in a 15-point, 12-rebound effort on Saturday in a 62-54 victory against Southern Maine. She shot 54.3 percent from the field and 75.9 percent from the charity stripe for the week.

Freshman forward Jaymesha Sanders of Newbury College earns NEWBA Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season after averaging 17 points, 11 rebounds and three steals per game in a 2-0 week for the Nighthawks. She opened the week with 12 points and five rebounds in a 91-48 win at Lesley on Tuesday, before posting an impressive double-double with 22 points, 17 boards (ten offensive) and six steals in an 88-38 triumph at Bay Path on Saturday. Over the two-game stretch, Sanders shot 60 percent (15-of-25) from the field.

  • Makayla Farrara, Castleton (Senior • Guard • Shaftsbury, Vt.) - Farrara averaged 24.5 points per game on 45.9 percent shooting in a 2-0 week for the Spartans. In Thursday's 71-48 win over Norwich, she scored a career-high 30 points and surpassed the 1,000-point mark for her career in the first quarter. Farrara followed that up with 19 points and five rebounds in a 69-36 victory over Green Mountain on Saturday. For the week, she made all ten of her free throw attempts, in the process extending her streak of made free throws to 37.
  • Kayla Guest, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Senior • Forward • Newington, Conn.) - Guest posted averages of 24 points, 11 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game as the Blue Jays went 1-2 last week. She recorded a pair of double-doubles, including a 32-point, ten-rebound, three-assist, three-steal effort at Simmons on Tuesday, and a 24-point, 14-board, four-steal, two-block performance at Elms on Thursday. Guest wrapped up her week with 16 points, nine rebounds, one block and one assist in a loss at Suffolk on Saturday.
  • Britt Herring, Worcester State (Junior • Center • West Brookfield, Mass.) - Herring averaged 21.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.0 assists per game in an 0-2 week for the Lancers. She posted a double-double with 18 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and two assists at Bridgewater State on Wednesday, before scoring 25 points to go with nine boards, four blocks and two assists against Westfield State on Saturday. For the week, Herring shot an impressive 83.3 percent from the field, as she connected on 20-of-24 field goal attempts.
  • Kelsi McNamara, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Junior • Guard • West Newbury, Mass.) - McNamara led the Monks to a 2-0 week, averaging 19.5 points, five rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. She shot 50 percent from the field, 46.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 80 percent from the free throw line. In a 69-42 win over Lasell on Tuesday, she finished with 19 points, five rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block. McNamara then totaled 20 points, five rebounds and two assists as Saint Joseph's defeated Norwich 80-48 on Saturday. 
  • Gracie Restituyo, Springfield (Junior • Forward • Barrington, R.I.) - Restituyo was spectacular in her only game of the week, as she made 11-of-15 field goal attempts on her way to a career-high 31 points in Springfield's 73-63, comeback win at Wheaton on Saturday. Restituyo also recorded seven rebounds, one steal and one block in the Pride's triumph. Her 31 points are the most for a women's basketball player at Springfield since the program transitioned to NCAA Division III in 1996.
  • Destiny Spears, Newbury (Senior • Forward • Arnold, Md.) - Spears helped the Nighthawks to a 2-0 record last week, with averages of 22.5 points, 15 rebounds, 5.5 steals and 3.5 assists per game. She turned in a monster performance in Tuesday's 91-48 win at Lesley, scoring 23 points to go with 12 boards, nine steals and four assists. Spears followed that up with 22 points, 18 rebounds, three assists and two steals at Bay Path on Saturday. She shot 52.9 percent from the field for the week and eclipsed 1,000 career rebounds against Bay Path. 
  • Brittany Stone, Regis (Senior • Forward • West Bridgewater, Mass.) - Stone continued her strong play with 20.5 points, 16 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game in a 1-1 week for Regis. She shot 65.2 percent from the field and 84.6 percent from the free throw line. Stone opened her week with 19 points, 19 rebounds and five blocks in a close loss to Emmanuel on Tuesday, before compiling 22 points, 13 boards and one assist in a 69-60 triumph at Rivier on Saturday.
