Regis College (Mass.) sophomore forward Brittany Stone is the NEWBA/Prestosports Player of the Week for February 22.  Stone had the best two game stretch of her collegiate career this past week. She averaged 2.5 points on 23-of-27 (85.2%) shooting, with 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 blocks in 26.5 minutes of play during two Pride victories. The sophomore forward also went 19-of-20 (95%) from the charity stripe. Against Lesley, Stone set the program's single game scoring record with 37 points on 14-of-16 (87.5%) shooting in 20.0 minutes of play. She continued her post presence at Southern Vermont in the season finale with a game-high 28 points and 11 rebounds en route to her 10th double-double of the season. 

Kennedy Guest-Pritchett

Smith College freshman forward Kennedy Guest-Pritchett is the NEWBA/Prestosports Rookie of the Week.  Guest-Pritchett continued her stellar play averaging 20 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals while shooting 53.8 percent as Smith ran its winning streak to four games with a pair of wins this week. The forward finished with 18 points, eight boards and two steals on 6-of-8 shooting in a 70-32 blowout win on Wednesday against Wellesley, and then scored 22 points to go along with 15 rebounds and three steals in just 19 minutes as the Pioneers locked up the #7 seed in the NEWMAC Tournament with their 74-66 win over Clark.

  • Kate Kerrigan, Bowdoin College (So., G, Wellesley Hills, Mass.) - Kerrigan was outstanding as the Polar Bears earned their 16th consecutive trip to the NESCAC Semifinals with a 73-50 win over Williams on Saturday. Kerrigan was all over the floor, scoring 15 points (including 3-4 three-pointers and 6-10 from the field) while also grabbing 10 rebounds, collecting five steals, dishing out two assists and blocking a shot. Kerrigan has been excellent down the stretch for the Polar Bears, averaging 10.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.6 steals in five February games.  
  • MaryKate Caverly, Colby College (Jr., G, Point Pleasant, N.J.) - Caverly had a collegiate-high 23 points, shot 61.5 percent (8-for-13) from the field, 75 percent (3-for-4) from 3-point range, and 80 percent (4-for-5) from the foul line while leading her fifth-seeded team to a 75-66 road win over fourth seed Connecticut College in a NESCAC quarterfinal game. Caverly also had four assists, four rebounds, and three steals. Caverly's game-high 23 points were 11 more than any other player on the court. She also had three assists, three rebounds, and one steal in the third quarter to help the Mules take a 56-52 lead after three quarters and never trail again. 
  • Megan Ronaghan, UMass Dartmouth (Jr., F, Boston, Mass.) - Ronaghan helped the Corsairs to a pair of wins last week, averaging 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 2.5 steals.  She started the week with 18 points, seven boards, and four steals against Southern Maine, and added 28 points with 17 rebounds against Southern Maine to end the regular season.
  • Alanna Vose, University of New England (Sr., G, Cushing, Maine) - After 10 points and 6 rebounds at Eastern Nazarene, Vose went for two shy of her personal-best with 27 points and five rebounds against Salve Regina. In the game, she went 7-of-9 from the field (1-2 two-pointers, 6-7 three-pointers) and 7-for-7 at the line. For the week, she shot 71% overall (70% from deep) and made all 10 free throws. She also averaged 2.0 steals. UNE capped an 18-0 CCC season with its 17th straight win. 
  • Forbasaw Nkamebo, Westfield State University (Sr., C, Amherst, Mass.) -  Nkamebo averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds per game in a pair of wins as Westfield State clinched the MASCAC regular season title. Shot 61.9 percent from the floor for the week. Finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds in the title clinching win at Worcester State, and became the Owls all-time leader in career rebounds with 878 in her four year career.
